This is my Dodge:
11/19/2011 Update: Here are some updated pictures of our 1964 Dodge
Polara 500 convertible. When we purchased the car in 1976 the
original 426 had been shelled out and replaced with a 383 out of a
69 Roadrunner. Our son found a correct date coded 426 block on eBay
which we purchased. We've upgraded the car to a Max Wedge bored .030
over with a 440 4.15 Stroker crank giving it a total displacement of
477ci. We used the Edelbrock performer heads and on top a polished
crossram intake and two Edelbrock 600 cfm carbs. It has a Compcam
Magnum Preformance hydraulic camshaft with Crane roller rockers.
Fire is supplied by Mallory with a Unilite distributor and Hyfire
control module. Maxwedge manifolds and three inch exhaust give it a
nice rumble. With a factory installed 833 four speed and 3.55 rear
end this old girl can still rock. She turns heads and gets the
thumbs up everyplace we go. Steve's Polara 500 Convertible was
originally featured on the Mopars Of The Month site in
July 2003.
